It's almost show time

This year's show tickets are $5
The doors will open for the audience 45 mins. before each show.
The Sat. 11/21 show begins at 7 and the Sun. 11/22 performance will begin at 11.
All cast members must arrive 2 hours prior to the performance on each day. 

Show times

Saturday at 7
Sunday at 11
Actors and crew must arrive 2 hours before each performance,

A cast party will follow the final performance and last 1 hour.

Rehearsal change

Due to the "BATTLE OF THE MINDS" competition on Thursday we are having practice on Friday.  Please make every effort to be there. (3:10-4:30)

It's the final count down....

We are in the final"stages" of rehearsal.  Costumes have been suggested to everyone and should be brought in before next week.

Monday-Friday next week is TECH WEEK and MANDATORY.
 The practices will be from 3:10 -5 each day!
Bring a drink and snacks!

Our performances will be Sat. 11/21 at 7 ( all actors and stage crew will need to be here by 5)
and  Sunday at 11 ( actors and stage crew should strive by 9am).
 A cast party will follow our last performance on Sunday and last about 1 hour.

Rehearsals

...from now on we will have rehearsals on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10-4:30 on the stage unless there is NO SCHOOL!  Practice the songs with your CDs.

Thank You

Bravo!  We had 3 productive days of rehearsals.  Thanks to all of you who joined us!

When we return to school we will need the whole cast and crew on Thursday, Sept. 3rd from 3:10-4:30 and then meet again just Thursday, Sept. 10th from 3:10-4:30 on the stage.

After the first two weeks we will rehearse on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:10-4:30.  Try your best to be there! 

Keep practicing your lines and singing your songs along with the CD.  

Summer Rehearsals

We are going to hold 3 summer rehearsals the week of August 17 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 to  12 in the cafeteria.   Bring your script and a pencil!  Bring a drink and snack...

Call Back Auditions

on Monday, June 8 from 3:10 to 4:30.  We will be auditioning actors in  specific roles.  Permission slips are at the theater bulletin board.  Take one and bring it with you.  GOTR kids will audition first.
Readers and singers will  audtion.

CALL BACK MEETING

After 2 auditions we are prepared to call back actors with specific parts to sing.  Come Monday, June 1st to the stage to get your CD and "part" to sing for on Monday, June 8th.

We are holding another singing audition for Into the Woods, Jr. on Thursday, May 28 from 3:10 to 4:30.  Bring your own music!

Spring Flower Fundraiser

The OCS Theater will be running a Spring Flower Sale!

The order forms are going home today and more forms are on our school website. 

The money earned will go to our upcoming production "Into the Woods".

The Into The Woods, Jr. play has been ordered.
Because of the demands of this play we are opening it up to students in grades 5-9th.

Tech Week

Bring your tye dye shirt to practice all week!  Tomorrow we will take a cast/crew photo for the program.

Please arrive at 10 am.
We will meet at 3 on Sunday.  The performance is at 4.  Remember there is a cast/crew party immediately following the show (pizza/ cake).  It should last an hour.  

Reminder: girls- try and find a shawl or kerchief  around your house for melting pot.  Boys-  caps, vest or suspenders.

Here we SNOW again!

Due to the winter weather we once again were forced to cancel practice.  We will try and practice this Thursday(new added date) and Friday. 
We will practice M, T, TH and F next week, too and then ALL WEEK M-F from 3:10 to 4:30 the week of March 23rd!  We know about some conflicts just try your best to attend as many as you can. They must be preplanned commitments! 
Our performances will be on Sat at 12 actors arrive at 10 and Sunday at 4 actors arrive at 3! 
The cast party will be on Sunday immediately following the final performance.

Updates

We are meeting Monday 2/23 BUT not Tuesday (optical academy).  We are meeting this Friday 2/27.

The Sunday performance is now going to begin at 4.  The actors should arrive by 2.  Let us know if this will be a problem.  Our cast party will follow the performance (it should be about an hour).

The SNOW I mean SHOW must go on...

BUT, on a new weekend!  Due to the weather and the lack of rehearsal times in January and February we will not be prepared to put on our show as planned.  We understand the commitments of other activities mixed in with the snow days we are not ready to perform.  A theater performance takes the entire crew to make the show work.  When we are all not there it makes it difficult to work with each other.  We have had an endless amount of understudies filling the shoes of the missing actors which makes it a challenge. 
We have begun working with the mics which creates its own share of problems.  We need the actors there so we can do our mic hand offs without interruption. 
We share our facility with other groups who also have their needs. 
Because of these bumps we must move the performance weekend to March 28th and 29th.
The Saturday performance will be at 12 and the Sunday performance will be at 2.  We will have our cast party immediately following the Sunday performance.  We ask the actors and crew to arrive at 10 on Sat. and 12 on Sunday for breakfast and a final rehearsal.

We will have Tech Week the week of March 23-27:  Monday through Friday from 3:10 to 4:30.  These are complete runnings of the show.  Bring a snack! 

The tye dye shirts are part of our costume.  DO NOT wear them until dress rehearsal and performance days.  We will ask the kids to BRING them to school to be worn over something just for the cast picture on Wednesday, February 25th and then removed to avoid being lost or stained.  The students were told to wear jeans.  Some asked about jean-like leggings.  The are OK, but keep in mind you need a place to secure the mic that is easy to put on and take off.

We are also looking for some props to be borrowed:  A large caldron(like one used on Halloween), page boy caps, berets,  cowboy hats, Napoleon hat, vests, shawls,

BOOSTERS & BIOs and info...

BOOSTERS & BIOs are due MONDAY!!!
1.  Stage crew and Actors please have your BIOs in by Monday, January 12th.  We need time to type up the programs. 
2. We are really moving along now.  It is so important to continue practicing the songs because as we begin to move on the stage we lose the words. 
3.  We are heading into the "snow day" weather.  Every practice is important.
4.  We are stuck to the March 7th and 8th performance date.  Show times to be announced. 
5.  This show is high energy and fast passed.  It is workout! 

FRIDAY PRACTICE

Due to the overwhelming amount of actors who are in the OCS Ski Club we will not have practices on Friday.  We are changing Fridays to Thursdays.  Please change your calendars.
 
REMINDER the BIOs and BOOSTERS are due on January 12th.

We are looking for parents who would like to organize the CAST PARTY.  Let us know if your interested.

 Last year we had a sheet cake, pizza, soda/juice/water and paper goods.  We have the party after the performance on Sunday.  We are just looking for someone to order the food and set up the cafeteria.
