Practice

We are now working on moving around the stage.  It is so important to be there.  Please make every effort to attend rehearsals; even after music lessons, student council, etc...
This is a team effort!  Our rehearsal days are dwindling! 

I will be sending home on Friday-  Actor Bio forms and Program Boosters(Shout Outs).  They will be due on January 12th.  Sticking to the bio format just fill in the blanks.  The shout outs can be given to family and friends.  These are added "words of support" to the program. 

Stage Crew will be needed after the Winter Break.  KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BLOG for a meeting in January to discuss your role and to get your Bio and Booster form.  There are very little scene changes and NO curtain closing making  your job organizing and handing out necessary props, working the concession stands on the performance days and handing out programs.

Selected songs

For those of you who were given specific songs to practice-  Practice them and look on You Tube videos for ideas of stage direction.  The chorus should continue practicing the ALL sections of the songs.  We are ahead of schedule!  Keep up the good work...

REMEMBER:  we are off on Friday for Halloween and ALL of next week for conferences and convention.  That will give you a chance to PRACTICE!

Rehearsals starts MONDAY

We will begin rehearsing on Monday 10/20 on the stage at 3:10!!  Wait for the "afterschool activities" announcement.  NO food or drinks are allowed at practice!  Bring homework so you have something to do when you are not needed. 

Remember this is a commitment and you must come ready to work!  We will not tolerate fooling around and disrespecting others.

What a success

Congratulations to our amazing cast and crew.  Thank you for making our visions a reality!  We hope you felt as excited as we did.  You guys were awesome!!  We were so proud of you.

Don't forget your permission slip for Friday's trip to Hawk Point, CDs and scripts.

We also have some items in the lost and found.  The props can be picked up, too.  Thanks...

TECH WEEK CHANGE

We will end rehearsals at 5:30 on Thursday and Friday.

We would like the cast and crew at the school by 9:30 am on Sat. and Sun.   Mrs. Arnold is providing bagels to the cast--Thank you!

Volunteers can arrive at 11 and we will let you know how to help when you get there. 

Tickets will go on sale at the door on the performance days from 11:15 until 11:45.
We will have flower-grams and candy-grams on sale before the performance and during intermission.  We will have snacks and drinks on sale during intermission.

The cast and crew, only, will be invited to a cast party immediately following Sunday's performance.  It should be about an hour.  The students can be picked up from the cafeteria around 3. 

Thank you for all the time and effort you and your families have dedicated to the show. We are excited to perform this weekend!!

Tech Week

We are looking for parents to help at the concession stands before the performance and during intermission.  You won't miss the show.

We are also planning a cast party for the cast and crew only.  The party will follow the last performance on Sunday and will be about an hour. 

Tech week is important for the entire cast and crew.  It will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:10 to 6!  Bring a snack and your homework.  We will be running through the show so the kids know how long they have to change costumes and who to give or get a mic. to.  The stage crew will be moving and changing sets.  It is extremely important for everyone to attend.  Working as a team to get the timing down will be our focus.

Tickets will go on sale at the door on the day of each performance (no presales).  The show will begin promptly at 12. 

We will be selling small snacks and drinks and flower- grams and candy- grams before and during intermission. 
Special Invitation...
On Friday, May 2 the cast is taking a bus to perform 3 songs at the Teacher of the Year luncheon at Hawke Point.  We will leave the school at 10:15 and return around 11:15.  Permission slips will be sent home soon.

Tech Week

Tuesday 4/22-4/25 we will have full dress rehearsals from 3:10 to 6!  Costumes must be brought in.  All cast members MUST attend.  NO excuses.  Bring a drink and snack.  We will be practicing costume changing, mic exchanging, and scene set ups.

We were also invited to sing 2 or 3 of our show tunes at the Teacher of the Year Banquet at Harker's Hollow on May 2 during school.  A bus will be provided and permission slips will be sent home.  All are invited!

ACTION!

The wireless microphones have arrived!  We practiced with them yesterday.  The kids sound awesome!

REMINDER
I must have your BIOs and BOOSTERS by Friday, March 28th.  This will give us enough time to type and print the program.

HELPERS NEEDED

We are looking for someone to take the lead for the concession stand and some helpers.  We need you to contact the help, collect the donations, set up the tables before the show, sell the snacks during intermission, and clean up after the show.  (you won't miss the show)
We also need someone to organize a crew to run the cast party.  We plan to have the cast party immediately following our final performance on Sunday.

REHEARSAL THIS WEEK

We will have practice on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday!  We have the wireless mics, so practice will be very important.  Mr. Mazzarino is busy making our sets and he should have them soon!  A BIG thank you to him. The props are starting to come in, too.  We will be using them this week.

BOOSTERS & BIOs

Parents:  We are collecting boosters $1 a line or $5 for a 1/2 page.  These will be due by 3/28.

The Actor's Bio will be due on 3/28.  This will give us enough time to get it typed into the program.

Although we have not started ticket sales.  Families will not be limited. 
The performances are on Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th at 12 noon!

CHANGE

It was brought to our attention that next week is the OCS Talent Show and that many of our TALENTED actors will be in it!  So we understand that you will not be at practice and we will not have access to the stage.  So...
We will only have rehearsal on Tuesday, March 18th

We are also expecting the new wireless mics and some of our ordered props to arrive next week.  Practices after next week will be crucial.  Remember the new rehearsal schedule Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

NEW Rehearsals days

This week will remain the same!
Beginning next week, March 17-21, we be changing our schedule to accommodate students involved in the play who have committed to other activities.  Please make every effort to make these practices. 
The archery team has also switched their schedule to help us with uninterrupted practices.  These next few weeks are crucial:   will also be gathering props and scenery, using the NEW wireless mics, stage crew will be busy learning their cues.  We need to work as a team so it is important that the team is there.

Please fill out the paperwork sent home yesterday by next week.
(the biographies, boosters, and t-shirt orders.)  We sent home some suggestions for your costume.  Please let us know if you are having trouble finding anything.  We also are in need of misc. props.  Let us know if you have anything on the list ASAP.  We will return it the same way we got it!

("Talent" scene and "Surfing" scene) to be at practice.  We will be learning the steps with the DVD.

January Rehearsals

To all cast members:  (actors, singers, dancers and extras) In January we will have practice on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10- 4:30.  It is important for you to make it to each of them.  With the added snow days it is even more important to be there and continue practicing at home with the CD.  By now your lines should be memorized (or close to) and you should be aware of your actions and movements on stage. (read the italized lines in the script).

Remember we have always said,  "We need the best kid in the best role for the best show. "  Your actions will dictate.   

STAGE CREW We are looking towards the end of January for you to begin coming to practice.  Keep checking the blog.

SAVE THE DATE!  Our tentative dates for the show are Sat. March 8th and Sunday March 9.
